this idea for a post came to me late last night, as I was on the verge of drifting off to sleep, so it’s entirely possible that it’s not fully baked. but I decided to just go with it anyway.
so…blogging clichés. I’m sure you can think of a bunch of them right off the top of your head, right? and then you realize that you fit a bunch of said clichés…and that makes for a fun conversation with yourself. but whatever. back on topic. I put together this list based on my own experiences with blogging and with the different people I follow [most of them via several different channels of social media]. I’ve noticed a lot of…trends, let’s call them, in the blogging community, some of which are more widespread or annoying than others. I don’t know, I guess bloggers are just a very follow-the-leader type bunch. we tend to borrow a lot of ideas from others, which is all well and good, until you get inundated with the same content over and over and over [like those “if you really knew me…” posts?].
yikes, this is coming out a lot more cynical and mean-spirited than was my intent. so let me just wrap it up by saying this: I love bloggers, but wow are we a goofy bunch.
I don’t know about you guys, but I fit seven of these [which, if I’m being honest with myself, is more like eight]. can you think of more clichés to add to the list? I have to say, once you get started, it’s kind of fun. [I just thought of, like, 5 more to add to the list in the two minutes since making this graphic].
