I feel like this past year has been overwhelming, but looking back there aren’t a lot of happenings that strike me as eventful. maybe it’s just the lingering effects of school stress – the spring and fall semesters were some of the worst yet, and it really makes me dread returning to school in a week. but at the same time I know there are so many good things going to be happening in 2013.
-adopted a new puppy!
-my aunt and bachan came to visit in May
-family vacation to Aruba!
I literally spent the whole year [less a few weeks] in class.
spring semester: Spanish 101, French culture [redux], microbiology, cell biology, and Exploring Colonial British America [honors seminar]
summer term: French conversation, anatomy
fall semester: French literature after 1950, Foreign Literatures in English translation, Spanish 102, chemical ecology, and biochemistry [in which I made a D! woo?]
-survived taking the MCAT [barely]
-attended a prehealth student conference
-joined the AA4HY youth leadership council in the fight for sex education reform [and attended the urban retreat in DC!]
-attended the Hunger Games midnight movie premiere!
-traveled to London to hang out with Liesel!
-roadtripped to Pensacola to hang out with friends
-participated in the Color Run!
-celebrated Suhasini’s 21st birthday in Tuscaloosa!
-hosted several fun giveaways!
-celebrated the blog’s first birthday
-participated in Frocktober and wore dresses everyday for a month
looking back and compiling this post has helped remind me that 2012 was not a completely horrible year, despite the icky feeling I have thinking back over everything that has happened. all the same, I cannot wait to put 2012 in my rearview. 2013 is going to be amazing, I can just tell. bring it on.
